EVERYBODY STRUGGLES

 

It has been a few weeks since I started my outreachy internship and to say the least  it has been a roller coaster.

One thing I hate to admit is that I am struggling. I like to be perceived as someone who has all her stuff together. As my first time working in open source I was scared that my personality would shine.

I am a composed introvert. I hate asking a lot of questions and stirring the pot. I like to do my own research and find alternative ways to do things. I hate looking dumb and as if I am failing if I do ask questions.I am slowly learning to relinquish this kind of control. I try to ask questions during the weekly meetings. 

My Mentor has been of great help! He prompts me to ask questions and is open to answering them no matter how simple they are. He is patient and very understanding.

 I am still learning how to ask questions, however I will tell anyone asking questions, be clear about what exactly you need help in.
